Today I was thinking about salmon.
They do something most creatures try very hard to avoid.
They swim against the current.
Simply because that’s where they need to go.
The rest of the river moves the other way. It is probably faster and easier.
But the salmon doesn’t hold a meeting with the other fish to check if it’s doing it right.
It just goes.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about that a lot.
About how easy it is to let the current decide everything for you.
What you should show.
How you should behave.
How visible you should be.
How loud.
And sometimes the only sane response is very simple.
Be salmon.
